Our Steel Powder Coating Processes

To ensure consistency and quality as part of our commitment to ultimate customer satisfaction, our steel powder coating processes are carried out in-house in our UK finishings department, following a 3-step process:

Pre-treatment

Our powder coating process begins with the pre-treatment of your steel parts to thoroughly clean and prepare the target components for optimum surface adhesion.

As part of the pre-treatment process, the parts are negatively charged to form a strong electrostatic attraction between the components surface’s and positively charged powder coating.

Powder Coating Application & Melting

Our powder coating specialists then manually apply the desired dry powders to ensure even distribution across the components surface. The steel parts are then heat treated/cured in an oven (between 160 and 200 degrees celsius) for around 20 minutes.

The heat treatment process enables the powder to melt, flow, and fuse uniformly across the surface of the steel parts.

Cooling & Inspection

Once cooled, our team inspect and package your powder coated components to our exacting quality standards.

Quick and cost-effective

Environmental benefits

Liquid finishes contain solvents that harm the environment and require energy-intense treatment. Aluminium Powder coating is non-toxic and uses less energy during application.

Turnkey solutions

Aluminium Powder coating is one of the many extrusion, fabrication and finishing services we supply in our plant in Herefordshire. Place a single order, and we’ll give you a complete solution.
